Today, the President of the Provincial Government, Mr. Igor Mirović, awarded contracts to representatives of 42 primary and secondary schools for the implementation of 46 projects in schools in Vojvodina that suffered damages during the storm in mid-July.

"We had and still have problems in Novi Sad, Bačka Palanka, Ruma, Šid, Beočin, Sremska Mitrovica and in those places they are the most apparent, but there are also problems in other municipalities that are somewhat less affected compared to the assessment of the overall damage. I expect that with the funds earmarked in this call, as well as with the funds that the Provincial Government allocated within a few days for rehabilitation, primarily of preschool institutions, primary and secondary schools, the school year will begin in reconstructed and renovated facilities," said President Mirović and pointed out that part of the works would continue during September.

According to Mirović, the Provincial Government so far allocated more than 900 million RSD for storm damage repair of public buildings - 700 million RSD, when it comes to direct funds that had already been made available to cities and municipalities.

"Part of those funds is also intended for the reconstruction of primary and secondary schools. In Novi Sad, a procedure was initiated and we allocated funds for the roof repair works for the following primary schools: "József Attila", "Petőfi Sándor" and "Desanka Maksimović". Our goal is to join efforts in repairing all damage to the buildings by September," added Mr. Mirović.
