Slađana Bursać, Deputy Provincial Secretary for Education, Regulations, Administration and National Minorities - National Communities and Viktor Pál, Under-Secretary in our Secretariat handed the contracts worth five million RSD to the representatives of the educational institutions. Funds for the contracts have been allocated under our new call for proposals for financing and co-financing the promotion and improvement of students’ safety in primary and secondary schools in the territory of the AP Vojvodina.
“This is the latest call for proposals of our Secretariat, launched for the first time, which includes three priorities. The first one is to raise awareness and skills of children and young people in regard to the protection from abuse of psychoactive substances, protection from violence, abuse and neglect. The second priority is to raise awareness and skills of teachers and parents, while the third one is based on the development and respect of racial, national cultural, linguistic, religious, gender, sexual and age equality, tolerance and diversity. Safety is a topic that we all have to address in order to secure better future for our children in our country.” - said the Deputy Provincial Secretary Slađana Bursać.
65 schools applied successfully for the call for proposals. 3.5 million RSD was allocated for the primary level of education while 1.5 million RSD was earmarked for the secondary level of education. The approved funds will be used for programmes and projects, divided into four categories - protection of children from violence, children’s safety, protection of children from drug addiction and the development of tolerance.
“Safety in schools is paramount, bearing in mind the fact that school safety has a crucial role in the intellectual, social, physical and emotional growth and development of students. The Provincial Secretariat for Education, Regulations, Administration and National Minorities - National Communities will continue to provide support to educational institutions, with the aim of improving preventive activities, as prevention plays an important role when the protection from violence is concerned.” - concluded the Deputy Provincial Secretary.
