Vice-President of the Provincial Government and Provincial Secretary Róbert Ótott awarded today contracts under two public calls of the Provincial Secretariat for Education, Regulations, Administration and National Minorities – National Communities, aimed at improving the safety of primary and secondary school facilities in the territory of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina.

The public calls refer to the procurement of equipment to enhance safety and the execution of works on school facilities to increase security standards. The total value of both public calls amounts to 50 million RSD, supporting 41 school institutions - 28 primary and 13 secondary schools.

Funds will be used for the procurement of fire extinguishers, metal detectors, video surveillance systems, installation of hydrant networks, security doors, fences, and other elements contributing to the enhanced protection and safety of pupils and secondary school students and staff.

“All activities we implement today are directed toward one priority - the safety of pupils and secondary school students and staff. A safe school is not only a space for learning, but a place where children fell protected, supported and encouraged to grow. Therefore, our duty is to create conditions in which every child can grow, develop and learn in a safe environment”. - said Ótott.

He recalled that at the beginning of this year the Secretariat implemented a call for proposal for the procurement of video surveillance systems and that this year’s calls represent a continuation and expansion of that programme, with an even more comprehensive approach to improving safety in schools.

“Based on the experience of previous years, the programme has been further developed and evolved into public calls that include not only technical protection, but also the improvement of overall working and learning conditions in schools. In this way, we clearly demonstrate that the safety of our children and staff is our shared priority, and that the Provincial Government is investing in it systematically and in the long-term.” - concluded the Vice-President of the Provincial Government, Provincial Secretary Róbert Ótott.

The Provincial Government and the Secretariat will continue to invest in the protection and security of school facilities, as emphasised at the ceremony, “because this is not an expense, but an investment in the stable and safe future of our community.”
