375 Million RSD for Investments in Educational Institutions in AP Vojvodina
The President of the Provincial Government Maja Gojković handed over today contracts worth 375 million RSD for financing and co-financing investments in facilities of preschool, primary, and secondary education institutions, as well as student accommodation institutions in the territory of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina for the year 2025.
President Gojković emphasised that today’s awarding of contracts is proof that the Provincial Government strives to invest and create good conditions for education and the work of education professionals.
“Throughout the implemention of these projects, works will include roof and façade repairs, replacement of worn-out carpentry, reconstruction of heating and electrical systems, landscaping of schoolyards and sports fields, as well as adaptation of facilities to improve accessibility and safety,” Gojković said.
The President stated that 64 contracts have been awarded: 37 for primary education institutions, 13 for secondary education institutions, 4 for student accommodation institutions, and 10 for preschool institutions across the territory of AP Vojvodina.
Gojković highlighted a significant increase in allocated funds compared to the previous year.
“In 2024, 186 million RSD were allocated for these purposes, so this increase represents a significant step forward, both in terms of investment and the number of institutions receiving funding this year. This clearly shows that education is certainly one of the priorities of our Government’s work,” President Gojković said, adding that from 2020 to 2024, the Provincial Government invested more than 1.8 billion RSD in the field of education.
On the occasion, she announced that a new call for proposals for investments in primary education institutions would soon be published, for which an additional 100 million RSD has been allocated.
At the awarding ceremony, the Vice President of the Provincial Government and Provincial Secretary for Education, Regulations, Administration, and National Minorities – National Communities Róbert Ótott also addressed the audience. He stated that the allocated funds reflect the needs of institutions in both urban and rural areas, and that, with the support of President Gojković, the competent Secretariat has an additional incentive to persevere in implementing the planned projects, thereby ensuring that every educational institution in Vojvodina, regardless of its size and location, gets a chance for development.
“Investment in education is and remains one of the key priorities of our provincial administration. I am confident that in the period ahead, we will continue to work together to create even better and more functional conditions for education throughout Vojvodina,” Ótott concluded.
