64 Million Dinars Allocated for Programmes Advancing the Rights of National Minorities

Vice-President of the Provincial Government and Provincial Secretary, Róbert Ótott, today awarded contracts to representatives of associations and organisations whose programmes contribute to preserving the linguistic and cultural identity of national minorities, as well as fostering multiculturalism and interethnic tolerance in the territory of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina. A total of 64 million dinars from the provincial budget have been allocated through two public calls for proposals.
"Thanks to an increased budget, this year we have allocated as much as 30 percent more funds for these purposes, which enabled us to support a greater number of associations," emphasized Mr. Ótott.
Through these two calls, a total of 617 projects have been supported, aiming to preserve cultural heritage, strengthen the identity of national communities, and enhance mutual understanding and respect in a multicultural environment such as ours.
"The associations implementing the supported programmes and projects operate in diverse fields – from the preservation of language, culture, and traditions of national communities, to organisation of educational, artistic, and socially engaged activities that promote coexistence and mutual respect. Their work is invaluable to local communities throughout the AP Vojvodina," added Vice-President of the Provincial Government and Provincial Secretary Róbert Ótott.
Under the call for advancing the rights of national minorities, 383 projects were supported with a total amount of 45 million dinars, while under the call for preserving and fostering multiculturalism and interethnic tolerance, 234 projects received funding amounting to 19 million dinars.
A new call for proposals will be announced in August, following the adoption of the budget amendment.
