Mirović and Szakállas visit Senta

“For this year, the Provincial Government has appropriated, through the Capital Investments Office of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, 100 million RSD for construction of the carriageway in nine streets in the Municipality of Senta, almost 2400 metres long in total”, Igor Mirović, President of the Provincial Government, said today as he was visiting the construction site.
These are the following streets: Nikole Tesle St., Aranj Janoša St., Grobljanska St., Fabri Jenea St., Miksat Kalmana St., Dr Gere Ištvana St., Zaboš Jožefa St. and Husak Mihalja St..
The President said he was happy with the dynamics of works, adding it was only the first phase of the project, which would continue in the following year.
“Maintenance of traffic infrastructure in Senta is a very important activity, and we are planning to continue the works in the following year as well, in order to ensure the paving of as many streets as possible”, President Mirović stated, adding that in the previous years, Senta had implemented significant investments in the field of sewage network construction.
President Mirović also visited “Bolyai” Grammar School and Dormitory for Gifted Students in this municipality, emphasising that the Provincial Government would finance the preparation of the project and technical documentation for extension of the existing building and construction of a new dormitory building, which started in 2007, due to a great interest and demand for student accommodation on its premises.
“Taking into account the fact that Senta is the centre of secondary education in this part of Vojvodina, particularly for students of the Hungarian national minority, starting from next week, the Provincial Government will appropriate the funds for the project and technical documentation, to have everything ready for this important investment next year, which will provide the best possible conditions for student accommodation in the dormitory, as it is our duty and our obligation to do so”, Mirović stated.
President Mirović announced that the Provincial Government would continue discussions with presidents of all 45 local self-governments in Vojvodina, in order to jointly define the priority projects and investments for the following year, adding that it was planned, through joint financing, to invest more funds in the local road network.
“We are grateful to the Provincial Government, as we have really made some progress in our municipality, when it comes to development of infrastructure”, Rudolf Cegledi, president of the Municipality of Senta said.
Also present at the event were Zsolt Szakállas, Vice-President and Provincial Secretary for Education, Regulations, Administration and National Minorities - National Communities, Ognjen Bjelić, Provincial Secretary for Energy, Construction and Transport and Miloš Maletić, Director of the Capital Investments Office of AP Vojvodina.
